When I think back to being in college I remember nothing but fond times. The dorm rooms, the cafeteria, tray sledding. Okay, maybe not tray sledding...
Here at the Reynold's Institute I see a lot of similarities between my college days and what we're doing now. Here we are, from all different states, cities, backgrounds; we left our families and all things familiar for a fixed time period. We are all on a level playing field, if you will. We go to class together, eat together, live in the hotel together, and even make CVS runs together!
What we have learned so far is most of our names, where we are from, and a ton of helpful nuggets on interviewing others, how to generate a good story idea, and how to stay hydrated in the Phoenix heat.
We have successfully made it through day one and are eagerly awaiting all day two has to offer. I'm excited about the photoshop lessons the most. This is one program I have always wanted to learn about, but I haven't had the time or resources to spend learning. Perhaps even more than this, however, I am excited to be back in a college-type setting: getting to know others, learning how to better myself as a teacher and student, and fight the urge to procrastinate assignments.
School is back in session!
