A few early morning runs to avoid the Phoenix heat revealed the subject for this video: the many homeless who lives on the city's streets. After an interview with James Ford, aka "Little Junior," journalism advisers Dana Savage and Travis Durfee ventured to the Human Services Campus where they spoke with Director of Programs, Laura DiTroia. Despite the many hydration stations throughout the city designed to service people living on the streets dirtier said that people experiencing homeless "literally die in the heat" each year.

Dana and Travis, what a moving video. Your project inspired me! It is a perfect example of the type of journalism I want my students to produce.

You guys did a great job on this video. I think you captured the most focused angle of the entire group by focusing on an issue that makes the heat even worse. Everything you used in the video was directly related to the issue of homelessness, which made it very powerful.
