Teamwork x3

Every time Steve says to meet with our groups I immediately get confused. Is it our video group? Our writing group? A group of folks that we are currently sitting by? In the end, however, I have found that it doesn’t matter which group Steve means, as it is the teamwork itself that makes the experience worthwhile.

Here are three case studies to prove my point.

1. My writing group meeting to chat about our stories: As we read our stories aloud and discussed what changes would help, I found my story improving and my eye for editing improving as well. I realized that I needed the outside advice, the help of others, to make my article come together.

2. My video group creating our video: Working in a team for this video project was essential. Different aspects of the project played to each of our strengths, and more importantly, the group made it fun to do. We could laugh at our mistakes together and celebrate our successes together. It simply wouldn’t have been the same, or as good, doing the project alone.

3. Sitting with Tracy as she worked to create a better site for her newspaper: We spent much of this afternoon’s work time tweaking widgets and photos on her site to fully improve its look. I was the SNO expert, and Tracy was the expert on what she wanted her site to look like. I can’t speak for Tracy, but I really liked working with her to reach our common goal, chatting about decisions and collaborating on what would work best. Want to see our hard work? 1. I really enjoyed working my groups today as well. My writing group was very productive in providing constructive criticism and positive feedback. My video group was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. At the end of a long day, it was great to review the finished products that everyone created and collaborated on as a group.
