The Color Index 2 - a HUGE help for those of us less versed in color theory

Oh, before I forget, here is the link to The Color Index 2, a fantastic resource that comes in really handy whenever we are trying to color-optimize our layout or just plainly try to figure out which colors play well together.

It shows you color indexes and color options that work well together as well as contrasting colors. Included are CMYK and RGB codes so you just need to create new swatches in InDesign and voila - you have some shiny colors.

Here's the link for the book on Amazon.

And may I suggest using Amazon Marketplace where you can get it for $2.95 used?

This probably was the best $2.95 I spent this school year, making designing feature pages and infographics a breeze!

  1. I remember when my yearbook adviser received a color index book from our yearbook rep. It was a heavenly day.

We no longer had to wonder if we input the correct levels or if our print color would look alright. The guessing game was over.

Anyone who is printing color should consider picking this up. It really is a game changer.
