The relationship with the principal is the most important

Kristin Gilger said all the right things! This relationship with my new principal, the most important one I can have with anyone professionally, is MY responsibility. I must be smart and strategic because my new principal may not understand what journalists do. It's my job to have a conversation with him about that. After the conversation it's my job to follow up. I need to be willing to communicate with him and remember his position and point of view while supporting my students' rights. Moreover, I must remember that I can seldom convince anyone to change a point of view unless I am willing to adjust also.
